I have been having a lot of success in the Adult Show Handling in England and Europe. It all started by accident in December 2004 when I was at Eurodog show in Belgium. My best friend Judith Prigg of Ramillies Whippets had two dogs entered in the Handling by mistake, and I was persuaded to have a go, I had watched handling but never tried to do it, there is so much to learn!!!! but in I went, with nothing to loose, and I did very well I was not the worst even though I made quite a number of mistakes, including breaking The Golden Rule (never get between the Judge and your Dog) I'm quite good at still breaking this rule!!!!!!!!!!!! On the first day I was 5th Individual in the over 40's, on the second day I was 2nd Individual and 6th senior Finalist, I was over the moon having beaten people that have been handling for many years, that was it I was bitten by the bug and look forward to each show with Adult Handling. I must thank Judith for allowing me to handle Demerlay Dream Guy I could not have done it without him. The UK Dog Handler Assocation run a handling weekend in conjunction with Southern Counties Champ Show, it consists of training days and competition days, it is well worth going. It was at this weekend in 2005 that I had my next go at handling,the first day is all training, this is when I started using Osterfen Lilac Wine she was still only very young but took to it very well, and we finished the weekend competition as 3rd Individual. I have continued to use Lilac with great success, but Guy is my reserve if Lilac is in season and unable to go, he is a pleasure to handle and always tries his best. In 2006 I became a member of the Belgium Handling Club as they have more adult handling than we do in the UK. I had a very good year and even though we did not go to all the shows I finished 3rd best Senior Handler. The greatest moment of the year was at Eurodog Show in Belgium 2006 exactly two years since I started handling, on the first day I was Best Handler (Junior & Senior) and on the second day I was 2nd Best Handler (Junior & Senior) I was so thrilled.

At the Coventry Ladies Canine Society Adult Handling Final on the 26th April 2008 I was unable to use Lilac as she had cut her foot the previous day, so I decided to try Pepper who had never had to do any thing like this having only been to a couple of shows so at the tender age of just 7 months she became a "STAR" as we won our age group and then went on to beat the winners of the other three age groups to be Top Handler in Show, not a bad start for the newly named "Understudy"
